Anthony Davidson escapes injury in huge Le Mans exit
Toyota has released a short statement on the condition of Anthony Davidson after his dramatic exit from the Le Mans 24 Hours.

Davidson was involved in a high-speed clash with the Ferrari of Pierguiseppe Perazzini heading into Mulsanne Corner, with his car flipping in the air before going into the tyre wall.

Perazzini's Ferrari also impacted the barrier at speed, with the resultant damage leading to a lengthy safety car period for the barriers to be repaired.

Although both drivers got out of their vehicles themselves, Davidson then required medical attention but Toyota has now confirmed there is no serious injury for the Briton.

“Anthony Davidson was taken to the circuit medical centre following his accident during the Le Mans 24 Hours,” Toyota said. “Doctors at the circuit have confirmed that Anthony is suffering from shock and back pain, however there are no signs of any injuries and he is walking and talking with no problems.

“He will be taken to a local hospital for precautionary checks but the team is relieved and happy to hear he is okay. Further updates will follow in due course.”

Toyota's woes have continued meanwhile, with Kazuki Nakajima tangling with the DeltaWing shortly after the race restarted, with his car now dropping down the order while undergoing repairs in the pits.

Satoshi Motoyama meanwhile is working trackside on the DeltaWing following the accident at the Porsche Curves in an attempt to get the car back to the pit lane.
