Kamui Kobayashi could be set to move into sportscar racing for the 2013 season after reports emerged that the Japanese racer is to test with AF Corse this week.
Kobayashi found himself without a drive in F1 after being replaced by the Sauber team, with his hopes of inking a deal elsewhere coming to nothing despite a well-publicised campaign from fans to help raise funds towards a drive.
Kobayashi isn't the only ex-F1 driver joining the Ferrari squad for the test in Spain, with former HRT man Karun Chandhok also getting behind the wheel of the 458 Italia.
The Indian driver switched to sportscar racing last year with JRM but has been forced to look for other options after the British team halted its LMP1 programme after failing to secure the necessary backing for the 2013 campaign.
Should either driver secure a deal with the team for this season, they would join ex-F1 men Giancarlo Fisichella and Gianmaria Bruni in the line-up.
Another man with F1 experience has already been confirmed in the highly-competitive GTE-Pro class, with Bruno Senna recently announced as part of the Aston Martin Racing line-up after leaving Williams.
