SRT reveals Le Mans line-up

SRT Motorsports names the six drivers who will race its Viper GTS-R in the Le Mans 24 Hours
The SRT Motorsports team has confirmed its driver line-up for the 2013 season, including its first run in the Le Mans 24 Hours.

The team will again field two cars in the American Le Mans Series during the season ahead having debuted the new Viper GTS-R last year, with the team having also being granted two entries into the GTE-Pro class for Le Mans in June.

Kuno Wittmer and Jonathan Bomarito will share driving duties in the #93 entry, while the sister #91 car will be in the hands of Marc Goossens and Dominik Farnbacher.

Tommy Kendall will then join the #93 crew for the three endurance events on the teams schedule at Sebring, Le Mans and Petit Le Mans while, as previously revealed, Ryan Dalziel will join the team for the same three races in the #91.

“SRT Motorsports is truly one team with two cars,” Beth Paretta, Director of Marketing and Operations – SRT Brand and Motorsports said. “The changes we've made for 2013 better aligns the dynamics of each driver which we think will enhance the success of each car and the team overall.

“Our team chemistry is undeniable and is something we realised the first time we went to the track last year. We feel extremely confident that our drivers are matched well for their strengths which will provide the best results on the track.”

All six drivers have already spent time at the wheel of the Viper during the recent Sebring Winter Test, with hopes high of a solid campaign after a four-race programme last year.

“While we were pleased with the progress of our programme in the four races last year in preparation for a full season in 2013, the changes made in the off-season and the two test sessions this year have produced some significant results,” said Gary Johnson, Road Racing Manager – SRT Motorsports.

“The next step is to see how we stack up against the competition and the 12 Hours of Sebring certainly provides that kind of test by challenging both driver and machine for 12 gruelling hours. Our two-car team returns to Sebring with a new level of optimism.”
