The Krohn Racing team is aiming to take part in Thursday evening's qualifying sessions for the Le Mans 24 Hours with the team racing to prepare to replacement car following Tracy Krohn's accident in Wednesday practice.

The team's GTE-Am Ferrari suffered heavy rear-end damage when Krohn went off the Dunlop Esses during the four-hour session, although Krohn himself was able to escape without injury.

Having examined the car after the session, it soon became apparent that the Ferrari 458 Italian was damaged beyond repair, leading to the team seeking a replacement car to be used for the race instead.

A new 458 Italia normally used by the Edil Cris team in the Superstars GT Sprint series has now arrived at the Circuit de la Sarthe and is being converted to full GTE-Am specification, with the team hoping to be able to join the rest of the field in hitting the track when the action gets underway at 7pm local time.

Fellow Ferrari team JMW Motorsport hope to be able to run this evening after also suffering an accident yesterday, with the Caterham-backed Greaves Motorsport Zytek and the Thiriet by TDS ORECA also undergoing repairs.
