Audi has confirmed that Loic Duval has escaped almost unharmed following his horrific shunt during free practice for the Le Mans 24 Hours.

The Frenchman shunted at the high-speed Porsche Curves, the aftermath of which left his R18 e-tron substantially damaged, with the driver left visible after much of the bodywork was ripped away.

Transferred to the medical centre and then to hospital, early indications suggested Duval was not seriously harmed, but a further update from Audi suggests he has gone to escape any injury whatsoever, tweeting the following:
