Loic Duval has been released from hospital following the monster shunt that forced him out of defending his Le Mans 24 Hours title.

The Frenchman lost control of his Audi R18 e-tron Quattro during the early stages of free practice, destroying his car in the impact against the barrier and fence.

Admitted to hospital, remarkably Duval escaped with nothing more than a few grazes, though it was advised by doctors that he should not compete this weekend.
