Audi and Porsche look set for a marathon battle at the 2015 Le Mans 24 Hours, with the number 7 Audi edging past Mark Webber's Porsche as the race enters the evening stretch.

Mark Webber has taken over in the cockpit from Brendon Hartley but was reeled in by Benoit Treluyer in the Audi as the darkness descends on Le Mans.

Filipe Albuquerque has also been closing down the leading pair in third place with Porsche's #18 holding on to fourth place.

In LMP2 KCMG is quietly continuing its fine progress at the head of the category and has pulled out a 90 second gap on its closest challenger, the #48 Thiriet By Tds Racing with Murphy Prototypes a similar distance behind in third.

Aston Martin's #99 is starting to gap the Corvette after Fernando Rees gained a 20 second advantage over Jordan Taylor in the number 64, while the British manufacturer also leads the GTE AM class with #98 Aston Martin Racing a lap up on the number 72 SMP Racing Ferrari 458 Italia.
