Le Mans 24 Hours: Toyota collects ‘missing puzzle pieces’

Anthony Davidson says he and the Toyota Gazoo Racing LMP1 squad has collected its final pieces of the set-up puzzle ahead of Le Mans 24 Hours.
Anthony Davidson says he and the Toyota Gazoo Racing LMP1 squad has collected its final pieces of the set-up puzzle as feels very prepared for the challenge of Le Mans 24 Hours.

Having finished on the podium on two occasions at Le Mans but narrowly missing out on victory the British driver is desperate to clinch a long-awaited win at the prestigious endurance event.

Having qualified on the second row – ahead of both Audi LMP1 entries – plus the added benefit of consistent wet running Davidson feels Toyota is far better prepared for the race compared to previous years and like his rivals is hoping for racing luck to avoid any trouble.

“It was good that I got to drive in the wet because that was the one piece of the puzzle missing from my preparations,” Davidson said. “I am happy that the car felt okay in the rain and we were competitive also; I think we have all bases covered now.

“You always want more time to perfect the car but we have done a pretty comprehensive job considering how the weather has been.”
