Le Mans 24 Hours: 7H: Toyota presses on as Bernhard escapes shunt

The #6 Toyota has extended its lead with a flawless couple of stints from Stephane Sarrazin while the #1 Porsche avoids a race-threatening off.
The #6 Toyota has extended its lead of Le Mans 24 Hours with a flawless couple of stints from Stephane Sarrazin while the #1 Porsche avoids a race-threatening off as Timo Bernhard shunts into the barriers.

Sarrazin leads by almost 15 seconds after Bernhard locks up braking for a yellow flag slow zone. The German bounced off a crash barrier but was able to continue without any apparent damage but still lost a chunk of time to the leader.

Toyota's second car, #5 with Kazji Nakajima has also pulled out a small gap in third on #2 Porsche. Audi has continued its small recovery running in fifth and seventh, split by the #13 Rebellion Racing.

In LMP2, #46 Thiriet By TDS Racing continues to lead with Paul Thiriet putting in an impressive stint to gap the #36 Signatech Alpine driven by S. Richelmi. Former leaders Manor have dropped through the pack and outside the top 10 after a series of technical troubles.

In GTE-Pro Ford is stamping its authority over the field with three of its cars inside the top four as the #98 driven by Sebastian Bourdais leads by seven seconds from team-mate #69 with Scott Dixon a the wheel.

Finally in GTE-Am the Abu Dhabi-Proton Racing Porsche as pulled out a half-minute advantage over nearest challengers #98 Aston Martin Racing with the #62 Scuderia Corsa Ferrari completing the top three.
