San Marino GP winner David Coulthard has called for a ethical code to deal
with what he sees as an increasing number of on-track collisions.
The demand stems from Coulthard's displeasure with the way Michael
Schumacher took the lead in Argentina, shunting the McLaren driver down to
sixth in the process. (I chose to be a racing driver because I enjoy
wheel-to-wheel competition,) said Coulthard, (but I do not want to have
sidepod-to-sidepod racing.) The Scot believes now is the time for the
sport's governing body to introduce penalties for over aggressive driving,
akin to those for passing under yellow flags.
The Grand Prix Drivers' Association (GPDA) - of which Coulthard is a
director - is also scheduled to discuss the issue at its next meeting.
