Pichon returns at Mallory.

Former AMA and Motocross world champion Mickael Pichon will come out of retirement to ride for Martin Honda in this weekend's British Grand Prix at Mallory Park.

The Frenchman, who won the 250cc (now MX1) World Championship with Suzuki in 2001 and 2002, retired from grand prix competition in 2006 - but has decided to make a shock 'wild-card' return for the factory-supported Martin Honda team, whose riders Kevin Strijbos and Marc de Reuver have both been sidelined by injury.

'The Rocket' raced a Honda in MX1 during 2004 and 2005, before making a switch to KTM. Martin Honda has arranged some test days to help the 33-year-old acclimatise to the latest CRF machinery before the grand prix weekend begins.
