Motocross of Nations venue takes shape

At the beginning of last week an inspection was held at the Autodromo Daniel Bonara in Italy's Franciacorta region, to check on preparations for the Red Bull FIM Motocross of Nations on October 4.

The delegation - which included Youthstream president Giuseppe Luongo, FMI president Dr. Paolo Sesti, FIM race director Dave Nicoll and DBO President Danilo Boccadolce - declared that development of the brand new Motocross track and associated infrastructure was proceeding 'very well'.

The race track 'will be very wide and spectacular, matching all the security standards completely' while services and activates are being put in place for the estimated 50,00+ fans.

Youthstream is currently negotiating with the Italian Government in order to have Italy's Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi attending the opening ceremony together with other Ministers.

This year's Motocross of Nations will mark the 63rd edition of the event and the first time it has been held in Italy for 23 years.

Best chance of an upset is this year, no Stewart, Grant, Villopoto, Alessi. It is rumored here in the states that the team is going to have a certain fellow nicknamed "The Goat" representing. Along with Dungey (who is probably going to want to ride a 450)and then the third seat is up for grabs. It would be cool if we could see J Barcia, his style is like none other on a Moto bike. Another rumour I heard is no USA.
