Villopoto takes gold in Canada

The AMA Supercross series headed to Canada this past weekend where Trey Canard, on holiday from West Coast Lites duty, grabbed the holeshot in Toronto before Ryan Villopoto made his way into the lead.

Series leader Ryan Dungey was in third but struggled to make an impression on the impressive Canard. Dungey eventually found his way past, but by then Villopoto was down the road and gone.

Canard claimed his third podium in a row, whilst Villopoto's win sees him make up three points over Dungey to leave the deficit at 17 points.

In the East Coast Lites class, Justin Barcia took his first win in typically fiesty style - the Geico Honda rider led from the start, tagged a tuff block and dragged it around for a lap, ran off the track with two laps left and finished the race with Austin Stroupe right on his back wheel.

The thus far unbeaten Christophe Pourcel came in a subdued third but still maintains his comfortable standings lead.
