Too-late Lancelot robbed of title chance

Points leader Livia not allowed to start final moto after a rule infringement
Livia Lancelot was denied the chance to race for the world women's championship as she was too late for the final moto of the year at the Czech GP. Despite being four points in the lead from current champ Kiara Fontanesi, officials told Lancelot she was not allowed to start.

Lancelot's bike stopped on the sighting lap, so she went back to get her spare bike. but as this hadn't been in the waiting zone before the race, she wasn't allowed to start.

She slumped at the side of the track and had to watch as the pack roared off and Italian Fontanesi took the title. The Yamaha rider took second place behind double race winner Nancy Van der Ven.
