The French Motocross Federation finally released their pick for the 2015 Nations at Ernee in September.

The squad of Gautier Paulin, Romain Febvre and Marvin Musquin is far less controversial than last year's unexpected but ultimately highly successful team of Paulin, Steven Frossard and Dylan Ferrandis that took the Chamberlain Trophy in Latvia in 2014. With Ferrandis and Frossard both on the sick list, a return to the team was impossible for one and unlikely for the other.

With Paulin and Febvre vying for the top of the MXGP tree and Musquin within a whisker of the red plate in the AMA series, the three man squad has to be one of the strongest for years and their chances of retaining the trophy in front of the home crowd incredibly high, especially given the enormous support that the French crowd will give come the racing in September.

The only loser in this is Jordi Tixier, who yet again gets left in the changing room for a second year, despite being second in the World Championship at the time of selection last year before going on to take the title, and running the title holders red plate all year in MX2. Tixier is currently sixth in the 2015 standings, thanks in part to a no-score in Argentina early in the season when he was banned after arguing with officials in Thailans, But his form has not been as strong as last year and was perhaps unlikely to be favoured over Musquin.

The team selection for Ernee also steps away from the surprisingly frequent all-green picks for the French squad, with Honda, Yamaha and KTM represented in the title defending squad. Can they keep the trophy? Better get those tickets booked and be there to see!
