Clarke's Husky team grows for 2016

European champ Steven Clarke has re-signed for Husqvarna and will have two team-mates
After a season blighted by theft of his race bikes which saw him unable to defend his European 250 crown, finally there's good news for Steven Clarke as he's been snapped up by Husqvarna for a second successive season and the team will be expanded by two more riders.

Former world junior champ Clarke will lead the Apico-backed squad on the all-new 2016 model 250 four-stroke and will be joined by another top five 250 rider which will be announced at the end of the season, say Husky which will also be signing a young British talent too. The team will be competing in the British championship and selected other British and European Championship rounds.

The team staff and set-up will remain consistent moving into 2016, with Richard Clarke as team manager and Stuart Summers as head mechanic. Steven Clarke said: "Seeing the new bikes for the first time, it is crazy to see how many improvements they have made from last year. The engine is totally new with more power, and the carbon fibre subframe as standard is a nice touch. I feel great on the bike at the moment and the current set-up is working well for me, so I will have to try to resist moving onto the new bike until next season!"

Husky UK boss David Edwards said: "The Apico Husqvarna team have done a fantastic job for us so far this season, and I can see strong potential with the team moving forward. The bikes which the team will be racing next year are all brand new, so getting the riders signed early will allow maximum time for pre-season testing."
