Not many race events see the competitors taking on extreme enduro in a bull fighting ring before heading out to ride 100km in mountain territory that includes an volcano that is actually erupting.

But that's exactly what the seventh Kenda Ukapacha Extreme enduro offered up. KTMs Taylor Robert, soon the join the World Enduro championship, and Wade Young were the guys that triumphed in the prologue that had the racers combining street sprinting with extreme racing in the bull ring in the cool Ecuadorian night.

The next day, the leading competitors headed up into the hills for a gruelling 100 km of hard-core off-road riding, from open going on mountain ranges to battling down ravines barely wider than the bike. Oh and an active volcano thrown in for good measure.

Brit Paul Bolton got the win from Wade in one of the coolest looking events this year.
