The Australian Supercross Open may not be the biggest event in the world but it turned into one of the most controversial and exciting winter supercross rounds ever, with Cooper Webb just beating home hero Chad Reed to the title.

With the controversy surrounding the on-off-on announcement of whether James Stewart would ride - finally scuppered when he got hurt in Lille - organisers dreamed up a fantastic replacement which was a Chad Reed versus Ricky Carmichael head-to-head race over both nights in the Sydney arena.
