Preston Docks in for 2016 British championship

Another sand track scheduled as the calendar now starts to fill up
By Adam Duckworth

The all-weather sandy track at Lancashire's Preston Docks is officially back on the British championship calendar for 2016 after a great debut in 2015. The event will be held on August 21 and will be promoted by British GP promoter Steve Dixon, plus partners John Desoer and Lee McGarry.

The Maxxis British motocross has a revamp for 2016 with a return to the more popular two-moto format over eight rounds, replacing the three-motos-per-day format of the past few seasons.

The motos ware be 25-minutes plus two laps for the MX1 and MX2 classes, up from 20 minutes per moto last year, and 18 minutes plus two laps for MXY2 youth classes when these are run.
There is still one venue to be confirmed.
Provisional calendar:

March 20 Lyng
April 24 Canada Heights
May 22 Hawkstone Park
June 12 Desertmartin
July 3 TBA
July 17 Blaxhall
August 21 Preston Docks
