Former grand prix star Ben Townley will make his second return to the 2006 AMA Motocross Lites series at this weekend's Glen Helen season finale.
The former MX2 world champion has had a tough rookie year in America, with two injuries sidelining the Kiwi for the entire Supercross season and then most of the AMA Outdoor series.
"I am really looking forward to getting back on the race track again," said the 21 year-old. "This year has been a tough one to handle, but I've got through it and I'm back to full health again. Riding is going really good. I've had three weeks on the bike and I'm gaining more speed and strength every time I'm out there. It will be good to finish off the season with a few races including Glen Helen and the 'Des Nations' before we go into the off season."
The 60th edition of the Motocross of Nations will be held on the 23-24 September at Matterley Basin, England, where Townley represent New Zealand in the MX2 class.
