Former 125cc AMA Motocross and Supercross champion, Travis Pastrana, has become the youngest ever Rally America champion after clinching the 2006 title at the penultimate round.
The 23-year-old, who mixes rallying with some freestyle motocross and occasional two-wheel races, took the title in only his second season of rally competition.
So far this season, Pastrana and co-driver Christian Edstrom have driven their Subaru Impreza to three victories, four second place finishes and a Gold medal at the inaugural X Games Rally event, where he narrowly beat hero and WRC legend Colin McRae.
"It is just awesome to win the championship against such great drivers here in the Rally America Championship, we had some great battles this year and it's been a real challenge at every round," beamed Pastrana at the podium ceremony. "Rally is my future and this gives me a lot of confidence going forward."
