Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Goncalves has been particularly impressive with his first two victories at the last two rounds, while Frenchman Steven Frossard and Marvin Musquin are also on form.
CLS' Frossard finally took his first podium of the season last weekend, but will need consistency as well as speed to close the 66 point gap to fellow Kawasaki rider Paulin.
On the other hand Musquin is currently the rider with the most podiums to his credit, having stood on the rostrum four times out of five attempts. Musquin, who is the sole Honda rider in the top 17, has a six point gap from Paulin at the moment.
Last but not least, Yamaha Monster Energy Ricci Motocross' Guarneri is third in the Championship and feels confident for Bellpuig where he won last year.
