With arch rival James Stewart absent through injury, reigning AMA Motocross champion Ricky Carmichael duly collected two runaway wins in round four of the 2006 series at Budds Creek.

Yamaha's Chad Reed was second to the Suzuki rider in both motos - finishing 24 and 11 seconds respectively behind the #4 - while third place was split between rookie Davi Millsaps and fellow Honda rider Kevin Windham, with Windham claiming the overall position.

Carmichael now holds a 20 point lead over nearest rival Reed with privateer Nick Wey a further 50 points behind in third and Stewart, currently recovering from a knee injury, back in eighth.

In the Motocross Lites class, Kawasaki rookie Ryan Villopoto took the overall victory with perfect 1-1 moto finishes, while Broc Hepler claimed second on his return to action with 2-6 finishes. Josh Grant was third.

Championship leader Mike Alessi was only eighth overall after 16-4 race finishes, but still holds a 7 point lead over Villopoto in the point standings.
