Interesting how Kallio, who has the least experience with electronics, is adapting to the GP9 the fastest. If gibbers thinks the answer is in electronics he'll do no better than any of the other Duc riders, just ask Guintoli.

He's been out of the sport too long, plus Rossi destroyed him mentally. There is no good reason for him to be on the grid, excepting the Spanish effect (and Euros)

The Duc' a pure animal that respond to none other than Stoner! Sete out of action for 2 years!...not sure about this....but as a former Motogp race winner, I think he still has pace left in him. Maybe not with the Duc though...Honda probably!

He was used to a 990 Ducati, bigger engine less electronics.
Adapting to these critters is difficult, ask the other riders of his generation.
Only Rossi managed to change his riding style to suit them.

Not sure most of the problems may be down to the team being new also. Sete needs to get used to his crew chief, etc so he can relay the info back and get changes made in the right direction. He will be nearer the front at Qatar for sure. Go Sete!!

I think once Sete gets used to being back on a bike amongst the guys he's racing with and once the team sort themselves out he will be a top ten finisher by mid season and possibly better towards the later stages of the year.Dont forget,he was putting in some damn fine times when he tested Stoners bike last year having not riden for 2 yrs and went better on it than poor old Marco managed on it,so it proves he hasn't lost that much ability. It depends really on what Sete is trying to prove,if anything.I think he's keeping his true desires to himself at the moment as to what he's actually racing for after such a long lay off.Maybe he just needed to heal properly after his injuries.

I'd agree that Gibernau has loss a lots of ground on 800cc. Eventhough he was the fastest rider on GP7 test a couple years ago, Ducati has has moving forward based on Stoner's riding styles.

To match those GP9 requirement, Gibernau needs to ride like he used to back then in Suzuki Team. Aggressive and a lots of sideways. Forget about electronic and ride it without thinking...

Morgue - ONLY Rossi adapted his riding style to the 800's? Another rider moved from his rookie year on a Honda 990on Michelins to the 800 Ducati on Bridgestones and won 10 races and the WC - I think that could be called adapting... and as for the electronics being all the answer. Look at the picture of Stoner on the Day 2 report in MCN and you'll see a guy using the bike to the full exactly NOT relying on the electronics. Well, you'd see it if you understand how to get the back end of a bike WAY out of line and still hit the apex in a full-bore slide. Rossi isn't the ONLY guy out there who can ride.

Zydon,
don't you think the 800's require more a silky smooth and clean riding style, relying on cornerspeed and staying neatly tucked behind the fairing
instead of the 'brake it dead in the corner - pick it up and accellerate square out' style of the 990's? That is partly why guys like Hayden can't adapt.
