Absolutely stupid!! Cost cut yes, reduce track time? NO. Motogp is already a rip off, now u get even less value for money at a GP. I think we will see bigger weekend crowds at WSBK thn motogp! STUPID RETARDS RUN MOTOGP!!

The season starts in a month and a half. The bikes are already built and been through testing. And they are now illegal? :p The brake and suspension components are the core of some of these bikes and I know for sure that the Hondas are all equipped with launch control. Way to go MotoGP. I am looking forward to WSBK season.

Epic Dorna Fail! Practice and testing is needed not only for racing and safety, but to give fans a reason to come to the track when it's not Sunday. And the engine rule is stupid. I hope the last races don't end up being slow and crappy compared to the rest of the season. The launch control ban isn't a bad idea though. Maybe when the economy improves MoroGP can junk the 800s and spend some R and D on real bikes.

"The bikes are already built and been through testing. And they are now illegal?..... The brake and suspension components are the core of some of these bikes and I know for sure that the Hondas are all equipped with launch control."

I doubt anyone here has much of an idea how many alterations the 2009 bikes need to be compliant with the new rules, so just chill out and see how it goes. Rule changes like these don't get made without major input from all the manufacturers, so I'm sure none of them are going outta their minds like you are.

Honestly, the way some people here react to change of any kind is quite scary.

I liked to be at the track on friday. Forget it, just one training session per class is useless. And saturday is now also less attractive. Better to cut the friday completely and use the time of the single friday session on saturday.

And no more launch control.... How does that save costs?

Does anyone have a video of that time that Dani's launch control failed and he flipped the bike?

Why must we pay so companies/corporations/race tracks/promoters can save money since cost cutting means we get less for spending the same or more? It's a downward spiral well rooted in history that you offer less, charge more, and snivel because revenues decrease. Just once offer more, charge less, and watch for growth. Be responsible for yourself instead of demanding us to make you richer. Agree, WSBK looks to be the hot ticket fo 09.
