Gizmo you bring nothing original to the table, I reckon even the most anti-Rossi-die-hard-stoner fan knows the truth in his heart. God forbid the Doohan era returns.

I can't wait to see what Rossi has to say after his post Sepang comments now that he is nearly 1.5 seconds slower than Casey haha.

Dam! The boy is fast! Anyway since he couldn't match last year fast race lap, I suspect that the track conditions were not great for him and others! This is not really a Rossi track.. or Yamaha for that matter. Stoner owns this track..knew that from his debut! I still have Rossi as the favourite for the title ..utter consistency, skill and talent...Stoner second utter skill and talent not as consistent! This will be a close fight..if only at the front with these two riders! Lorenzo will show his talent in the top three regularly with a couple wins..Pedrosa maybe close to mid season before he gets going!(because of injury)

Agreed, different horses for different courses and all that..Stoner seems to like the place. Jerez next where Rossi goes well and Casey has struggled in the past, Good to see Hayden coming to terms a bit more. Here's hoping for a cracking, close fought season.

Stoner blisteringly fast in short burst, nothing new really.
However the times are way slower than last year, unlike Sepang where they broke the qualifying record on race rubber. So let's hope that will be the trend and not that the whole pack will be slower on control tyres.

Aha - but maybe Rossi didn't try for his fastest possible lap and is sandbagging. Then again, Stoner always seems to be able to pull a few more tenths - sometimes quite a few - if he needs to to get a pole, so what if HE is also sandbagging? All he needs to know is that he has the bike and the fitness to race at the front and it's game on for the season.

Casey another year wiser and still the fastest man out there.Very competitive combination indeed.
Championship will more than likely be his in 2009.
Bring it on. :) :) :)

Stoner is either fast or falls off. Or both like this test. Actually he used to be fast and fall off on the 990cc Honda as well I seem to recall.

He needs to stay on the bike this year.

It's nice to see that Stoner can do so well considering how much pain he recently had in his hand.
