This is ridiculous, if they're getting good crowds in Hungary then we can't afford to loose them.

Why not back at the Hungaroring?, and if not, surely there must be another track in that country that can host a GP(even as a temporary measure).

If a GP can be run at the Sachsenring, it can be run almost anywhere (safety issues excluded)

Added how me know. The Spanish investor did not hand in his loan application. Tamas Suchman (investment comissary) declared: "The Hungarian side accomplished his obligation" (for example: the channel networks the Hungarians made it)

Sad new, but I'am not surprised. OK, since 2003 the Hungaroring has two dangerous corner with only 15m run off area. Both possible to re-build, but the main aim of the Hungaroring is the F1 race and I think no time for the first corner. But the Pannonniaring is a suberb motorcycle track, it need only spectator grounds.

Note

Some interesting fact about the connections of Hungaroring & motorcycle racing:

- the second ever WSB round

- the first win of Mick Doohan

- a fist win of the Cagiva (it is not 100% sure)

Makes for crap racing that circuit...well for F1 cars anyway, no loss. I fell asleep through the last GP there.

The Hungarian goverment have approached the owners of the Hungaroring near Budapest(the F1 circuit) and asked if they would be interested in hosting it in September-the owners have said they could. However there is a question of the safety of the circuit-it was updated and modified for F1 so the run-off areas are actually tarmac(asphalt) whereas, and I stand to be corrected, MotoGp require gravel. If someone is prepared to shoulder the cost of changing it - be it the Government,(who have quite categorically stated they want a round in Hungary this year) or the owners-then subject to Dornas approval there could be a Motogp one-off at the Hungaroring this year. :)
