I really and truly hope this works out for Marco. Thing is, I equally don't think it will. I'm sadly confident that bike is gonna be a dog on day one and end up a barely conscious mutt by mid-season. Best of luck all the same...

I really don't understand Marco's thought process. Why sign with the last place factory in the series ? How could you think all of a sudden they will rise to the top. He could have taken the safe route back to Gresini and pretty much be guaranteed a decent ride.
Now he has to suffer a 2nd season of fighting for last place which just might be fatal blow to his reputation.
Might he had been better off waiting on the sidelines to replace an injured rider of stepping in for testing or wildcard rides ? Quite possibly yes...

Marco has obviously given it serious consideration and has said he cant afford to take a year out because of the young talent coming through so best of luck mate. Head down work hard and hopefully you will reap some benefit from this year. It certainly cant be any worse than last year. Heartbreaking stuff.

A couple of podiums achievement would changed his and Hayate fate altogether. Turkey and Shanghai tracks would made his job easier. To bad its no longer in this season.


Valencia, PI, Misano, Laguna, Assen, Le Mans, Motegi and Portugal may have a little hopes in there for him to get the job done.

Good luck for 09 Marco.... If it doesn't work out on the Kwaka, least you will be "inside" the circus, rather than outside in the wilderness.

I really wish any of you idiots or anyone in moto gp for that matter would challenge me on ortega highway ! I am the king and no not even rossi would challenge me ! If I were to just get a chance on this hayate bike I wod make it a proven winner ! Remember that I am king and if any of you want to challenge me ? You know where I will be !

Mike V - You are a complete tool and the whole Ortega highway thing is boring. If you need to prove your a real man and are up for a challenge then why don't you enlist and help your fellow Americans fight the Taliban. Or perhaps your not really that brave

A quality rider who has fallen on hard times! Shame!

Will never forget that last corner at Philip Island a few years ago when Marco won on the Honda - what a dude!

I hope Marco can get some results and move on to a better team next year.
He's still good enough to be in this field.
