MotoGP » Stoner: We were too confident last year

Sort Comments: Oldest | Newest

Most posters here say Stoner will win at Qatar but Rossi will win the championship. We beg to differ. Stoner was the fastest rider throughout 2008 and the winter tests. Rossi only won it due to some technical problems that the Duc encountered last year, Stoner's wrist injury and by playing dirty at L Seca. With better luck this year Stoner can just shoot the Ducati rocket past everyone. At the end of the day a win is a win, it doesn't matter whether the Duc has more raw power, or that Rossi can perform the overtaking stunts that Stoner cannot. Bring on 2009, the Rossi fanboys can moan about Stoner breaking away early all they want.

I think Stoner will surprise more than one neophyte this year, he seems to be going trough a Doohanisation phase and it is exactly what he needs.

I can't wait till he does to Vale what he did to him last year and then comments "Sorry Vale, That is racing" Rossi being the fair dinkum guy that he is will take it like a man but the mood may change from the Friendly/Aggressive/Respectful to maybe a not-so-friendly/watch-for-casey/Respectful.

A win is not a win MC Foundation, they count for so much more when quality riders using the same equipment are fighting for low points with the back markers.

Hey... no body mention Randy De Puniet in the title contender?

Watchout Guys, remember De Puniet had "playboy stuff" as his "super booster", he probably will dismounts from his bike, do a sprint and overtaking while carrying his bike on his shoulder to the finish line... IF the bike is uncompetitive enough to race.

Hey Marty Foundation, I think he's agreeing with you. He's saying Stoner should get extra credit for his wins because quality riders are on the same bike but are running at the back of the field - proving Stoner's talent.

The old traction control hobby-horse again raises it's head. Blah blah blah, there's traction control on my father-in-law's Peugeot shopping trolley. It's everywhere in the world these days so get used to it, including in racing. We may not like it but the manufacturers want it for development reasons.

Big E.....there you go again talking sh1t, the fact of it all is Vale has been riding with TC a lot longer than Casey has. So you would expect Casey to come to grips with no TC sooner than Vale. As for Ducati having better TC and electronics......get this into your thick head THEY BOTH HAVE THE SAME  Also do yourself a favour and go to a GP and have a really good listen to the bikes and then work out who has TC on or not, if that is possible for a idiot like you.
