Tex i think it was Schwantz that said that, and i think he said it about Rossi.
Rossi crashed all the time in his first year, just like Stoner.

Stoner was blindingly fast on the Honda. When he crashed he was usually up the pointy end trying to hang on to the factory bikes.
He repeatedly complained about his front tyre and the front end set up - but his engineers thought they knew better.
When he went to Duc he had knew tyres and engineers/mechanics that listened to his wishes... he could get his front end feel back and the rest is history.

Rossi is concerned about Stoner. The groupies should be too.

Come off it Stormr, Laguna was a fantastic race, a real race with real overtaking from both. Don't be such a sour loser by trying to villify Rossi for doing what he does best: race. Ducati didn't protest because they didn't have anything on him.
Schwantz was actually delighted by the race, go to YouTube and watch the edition of 'after the flag' at Laguna, you'll see his comment.
And while you're at it dig out some vids from 80'sGP racing, that'll sort you out
Stoner could have done himself an immense favour by being sportive and gratious in defeat that day. He chose not to, it was an emotional outburst and I think he regrets it.

Rubbish Morgue if the positions had been reversed and Stoner run through Rossi's line while outbraking himself off the track Rossi would have had a word or two to say as well, as he did when Elias did far less to him at Turkey, calling him 'dangerous' and 'unfair' Lol.

Rossi is the king of dishing out what he can't receive, Stoner will be a lot more forceful this year I CAN'T WAIT to see what Rossi and his supporters will have to say if Casey duffs him up a couple of times!

It won't happen because he can stand his ground.
This is not a childsgame for the overly sensitive, it is a real battle.
Over the last years because of the lack of real racing even spectators have become weak and alienated from what true racing is, so many runaway games made it look like that's the norm. And mightily boring it is.
In that respect it was really refreshing to see James Toseland bring in a bit of good old classic fairingbashing from the world of WSBK :)

If Casey had anything else to bring to the table he would have done it after LS. The pivotal moment for me was Motegi where Stoner was on fire again an Rossi stayed with him then passed him comfortably. Casey has very little too do with setup which is why he is fast on lap 2 every weekend. Ducati may well have mae the bike faster which should put the ball back in his court but Casey has been at the top level for 8 years and been well beaten in 7 of those... all points to the bike....WHo said a great rider can adapt, everyone...and Casey can only win on one bike the Duke...
