No, forget De Puniet. Performance of the day was from Melandri.

Casey might not have won but excellent to see an Aussie win anyway. Great job Jeremy Burgess, you gave the others a master class yet again. Forget Hondas, Suzukis, Ducatis ... if there was a bike called a Burgess we'd all buy one.

Oh good job Rossi too :)

990's boring? what world do you live in? Sete - Rossi, Loris - Rossi battles were incredible. Week after week. Plus they sounded better! When is the last time an 800cc race was decided on the last lap? Canepa could win the championship for all I care IF exciting racing, like the 990 days, came back.

TB777 if that was what you were saying then I think we agree :)

cooler Lorenzo has the same gear as Rossi, just not the same setup skill (yet).
Romagnoli is an excellent crewchief, he has, like Burgess, a calming effect on the rider, very important in the stressy environment Jorge is in.

Just to add fuel to the sandbagging argument!!
Rossi's best times all weekend
FP1 1.39.647 Fastest out of the box- ominous..
FP2 1.40.244 We know we're quick, no point showing our hand yet..
QP 1.39.642 Just fast enough to get us in the mix..
WUP 1.39.778 Ok now this is our race pace Jeremy..
RACE 1.39.818 I'm very very happy we're f***in fast..
What happened to the bike to lose over 1/2 second between FP1 & 2? And if Burgess did tweak the bike it was between FP2 & QP which still was only good enough for 4th on the grid- unless rossi was sandbagging.

Bubba

You obviously missed that era

barros Biaggi sete loris?

Sete only came in one year within 50 points actually 49 points . other years he was over 100 points behind
The 990's was the most boring years I have ever seen be ******ed if we want them again. The only year that Rossi did not bore us was 06
I rather watch 500cc Nortons . That was more exciting

Morque

as usual you are dreaming
Last year Rossi was the only one running electronic adjustable forks . And yes he ran them for 6 races. They are banned now
Have a close look at lorenzo's Forks at Jerez and also his swing arm and then look at Rossi's and tell me they are on the same gear.
Yamaha now owns Ohlins

Morque if you are at PI this year come and have a coffee with JB on the friday
. You might learn a few things especially about mister GOD.

I have been reading alot of stuff on here today. Anyone who really thinks it's less rider and more bike are just plain stupid and probably don't even ride. And to sit here a minimize the acheivments of a 8X world champ is just foolish! Idea....throw a leg over a 800 and due a session, come back here and post your time, compare and then start your championship run. Let me know how it works out! :?

I would love to but I'm busy.
Rossi is always the tester for new equipment, like Stoner. That's normal.
You have to stay at the front, right? I filters down to the rest though.
Lorenzo was still too busy holding on to the handlebars at that stage, do you really think you can be on a par with a multiple world champion when you've just jumped off a 250 twostroke? He was probably busy enough getting used to aanadjustable slipper clutch and carbon brakes.

Vale...congratulations! You need to step it up a little though and remember the crazy post race celebrations of your youth. Bring back the blow-up dolls or at the very least get back to doing stand-up wheelies over the line! Why so serious? :)

I think a lot was learned from Jerez.
1: Pedrosa has met his equal at putting in a first lap that is stupidly fast - Stoner!
2: Just because you are pole dont give up trying to go faster as the others wont have! - Lorenzo.
3: They were all given a lesson, once again, in not underestimating the ability of Rossi and the genius of Rossi and Jeremy together!
JB is a mastermind, incredible at his job, but he cant magic a solution he needs guidance to the problem and collaboration to ride around remaining issues, which is why him and Rossi are such a good team!

All in all a good race, I was impressed with Pedrosa, but once again the master showed them all the way home!
