No, forget De Puniet. Performance of the day was from Melandri.

Casey might not have won but excellent to see an Aussie win anyway. Great job Jeremy Burgess, you gave the others a master class yet again. Forget Hondas, Suzukis, Ducatis ... if there was a bike called a Burgess we'd all buy one.

Oh good job Rossi too :)

Lorenzo surely have talent and guts of a champion, maybe 1 or 2 years ahead or until Rossi retire. But until then, he needs to learn how to stay on the bike first.

Great races, great win by Rossi, if really dialed in with the tires and setting needed, then the others must worry, you have to realize that ALL the riders are complaining about the situation of the tires, so maybe it's a real difficult situation... but no mater what the ride of the day was Aoyama, to win here in a 250 Honda???? that's a ride congratulations to Aoyama, great race.

That was a hard fought victory for Rossi...Stoner made him fight for second place, well done Casey...and Pedrosa pushed hard for well over 20 laps keeping Vale behind for most of the race. After the line Dani gave Vale a low five, both delighted with their races, Casey pulled a massive wheelie at the line, again delighted with his race. Competition way to tough for sandbagging...Vale flat out to win.
Only loser on the day...Lorenzo punching his bike on his way back to the pits, Jorge's title challenge badly dented.

Rossi is paying more attention to the starts now cause he knows it is vital to win a race.he has also said that he has changed the way he works during FPs.This is what i really love about Vale.the fact that he can adjust although a lot has changed since he first started riding.
Great job Jeremy Burgess but what would Jeremy do if Rossi's feedback wasn't this good or with not the same skills as Rossi?
Let's hope this new base set up works on the other circuit as well!!now the championship really starts!!
Roll on LeMans!

History will show that Valentino Rossi won the 2009 Spanish Grand Prix. But for those of us who saw it, and the whole weekend, let us not forget who really won this race. And that was Jeremy Burgess yet again. The man is nothing short of genius.

Before everyone jumps on, yes, Rossi rode well, but that wasn't where the race was 'won' by a long shot.

Makes me laugh on BBC how Cox and Parrish don't do the commentary on the 125 & 250 races- Do they think they're 'too good' for the smaller classes! hahahaha They're the worst commentary pairing in the history of sport. The guys who do commentate on 125&250 are actually better to listen to. BBC should sack cox and parrish and give the other guys the job. Parrish is dull and you can tell that even he thinks cox is a muppet. Funny as well watchin Parrish do a lap of the track..Don't think he even got his knee down haha, they may as well give him a bicycle to ride round on. Me thinks Randy Mamola would do a better job for the BBC in this department. Hope BBC gets us Toby,Jules and Randy for 2010

Random thoughts:

Rossi is the only rider on the podium at all three races this year so far.

Kawasaki really need to come back with their tail between their legs and give Melandri official factory support again. Or maybe it's the lack of factory meddling and having nothing to prove that's helping him!

I notice that Dorna have tweaked the rules and lengthened practice sessions. There should be extra concessions for non-factory teams too - maybe extra tyres/fuel, engines, more practice time?

The Yamaha looks dominant - Stoner rode the Duc to its limit yesterday. Forget the days of the Duc mowing down the others on the straight. Credit to Casey - the carbon fibre Duc is a mobile experiment.
