No, forget De Puniet. Performance of the day was from Melandri.

Casey might not have won but excellent to see an Aussie win anyway. Great job Jeremy Burgess, you gave the others a master class yet again. Forget Hondas, Suzukis, Ducatis ... if there was a bike called a Burgess we'd all buy one.

Oh good job Rossi too :)

Valentino Rossi moved confidently to the top of the 2009 MotoGP World Championship by picking off all three of his title rivals in Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez.

Suzukimania - Stoner repassed Rossi on the straight. The Yamaha gaps them because it's good in the corners and not a slouch on the straights. I think it's close to equal on the straights, but not quite. I think it has the edge in the corners though.

Pedrosa gave way, after being passed he let go and settled for second.

About the Burgess factor.

What many Europeans and others probably don't know is that Aussies and Kiwis are the best mechanics in the world. Rossi knows it well. Our mechanics can fix things the rest of the world would throw away. We are great at improvised wrenching and Jeremy's jacking up of the Yamaha's back-end is a typical "bush mechanic" solution. As for the Yam's speed, Jezza probably hotwired the CPU with barbed wire from the fence around the paddock - a well-known Aussie trick.

A bush mechanic is not what you're thinking, although Aussies and Kiwis are the world's best lovers as well.

Suzukimania- just say what you want to say- hard to respond when you write in code- do you mean Stoner and Pedrosa gave up? Are you saying Rossi's M1 has something the other bikes don't? You don't seem like a conspiracy nut....Morgue has it right - Pedrosa was happy with 2nd. Stoner said he's happier finishing 3rd than winning in Quatar. Rossi has them both psyched out. If he can stay close and stalk them, sooner or later he's gonna pass, and neither seems to want a dog-fight with Rossi. Lorenzo (and maybe Dovi) seem to be the only ones who aren't afraid of Rossi. Bring back the days of Biaggi, Checa, the Sete of old, give Loris a bike he can challenge with. Let's see some RACIN

Well said Bubba. What I would like to see again though is a last corner scrap,
it looks like the racing is much more planned and strategic now.

Aussies and Kiwi's the best lovers? :p Now there's a statement Waz!

I always thought the best lovers are the ones that don't bragg about it
but walk the streets with a smile on their face :)

Nicky has one bad race and all you anti-American haters come out of the woodwork. Crawl back into your holes you neanderthals, Nicky is the greatest rider ever and he will prevail!

Everyone one of you reading this knows that if that race was just 3 laps longer Nicky would have won!

Nicky is the GREATEST RIDER EVER, OF ALL TIME!

GOD BLESS AMERICA AND GOD BLESS THE ALL-TIME GREATEST RIDER EVER - NICKY HAYDEN!

"Valentino trusts his technician and they trust him to bring the goods home" Um, Morgue, that's what I was saying. Rossi rode it well, o question, but Burgess and the boys got the bike working so he could. The sandbagging argument is pure drivel. Rossi was rather stressed about the bike on Saturday, that was clear. He can give them all the feedback he wants but if Burgess and the crew can't translate that into something that works...

As for the 80-20 business, yeah, Burgess did say that many years ago. He's said that has changed somewhat in recent years as well.

By the way I actually like Valentino and tipped him to win so the whole mud slinging, whilst amusing, is childish

That race just showed what a freak Stoner is. The ducatis is a bucket of ?

Just shows Rossi Knew stoner was that good at the end of 2005 and Blocked Jeremy Burgess from bringing Stoner to Yamaha.

Good Luck to Lorenzo and trying to get the gear Rossi gets.
