Sorry but this guy is yesterdays news. He spent 3 winless seasons in MotoGP. He was clearly the number 2 rider to Capirossi when was in the factory Ducati MotoGP team and did little to impress on the RC211V, a proven package. Sounds like a courtesy ride to me. Another world superbike champion who underperformed in MotoGP. If this is Ducati's hope to improve the desomsedici, I'm afraid they will be disappointed.

Get your facts right CS is NOT the development or test rider for Ducati, Vittoriano Guareschi is.
Just as Rossi is not the development or test rider for Yamaha
much to his fan boys dismay.

Troy Bayliss a living legend, it only needs Michael Schumacher
to join him for a test to get the muppets really going.

I suppose you could have Mike Duff join Rossi for a test,
just a thought.

I like Troy, everything a real man should be, strong and fearless with with rough hands. Perhaps one day he will come to Ortega where we could wear loin cloths and wrestle like Olympians of ages past. :p

Remember, I am Mike Vaseline - the UNDISPUTED Queen of Ortega B-Way. (soon to be opening my new gladiator school) :)

Codger, Bayliss throwing it away twice in the rain and picking it up is one of my favourite bike racing memories ever ... he did NOT give up and was even gripping and gunning the throttle to keep the bike going as he slid along on his butt.

As for Ducatis having an 'advantage' because of engine size in WSBK: Those who think a bigger engine with fewer cylinders means you've got an automatic advantage, please learn something about engines, internal friction, volumetric efficiency, maximum RPM and the interplay between these. Ben Spies ain't too shabby this year and he's on a four-cylinder Yamaha with a smaller engine than the Duc.

Imagine, if Ducati would finally decide to add a V2 800cc into their current MotoGP machines line-up. Purposely, to solve the problem for riders that having trouble to make transition on Ducati V4 machines.

With V2 800cc, the bike would be much more lighter, nimble and easy to ride inherited from their SBK machines. Probably the glory of 916 will once again return to Ducati through it's possible V2 motogp prototype.

Anyway, Bayliss test is very much waited and can't wait how it will turned out.

Troy Bayliss is a Legend in the motorcycle racing world. He has been involved in a large percentage of the greatest races in the modern era. I clearly remember he's response to a journo's question about how he managed to win one of the greatest races of all time, against Haga in Italy, he said something along the lines off, I just waited a bit longer to squeeze the right lever. What a plain talking, non assuming awesome talent. Walked past him at the day of Champs at Donington a coupla years ago and had a chat, He then singled us out at a Q@A and gave my two year old son some peronalised-autographed memorabilia. He is a credit to the sport and a reminder of the pre-primadonna days.

I would like to say, the majority of you muppets on here are totally missing the point!! Troy bayliss,at this moment in time is only doing a couple of tests to try to sort out the complexities of the pig ducati for the good of the other ducati riders..we all know that bike is built around crasher stoner (still would be crashing if he didnt have all the electronics to wipe his **** every time he takes to a track) Bayliss is a fantastic rider and i'm sure his comments and input over the test will be invaluable to ducati to make the pig more open to other riders other than robotoid stoner..funnily enough, there has been NO talk about Bayliss racing again,so its all conjecture.. :)

i've been going through out the comments and i see there's fight between rossi v baylis and anti-stoner are also here! well if you are well matured and knows about Motogp you would first never compare a WSBK rider to a motogp rider, then for those who thinks that Bayliss can outperform casey on that Red GP9 u must be dreaming while walking, then reason ducati wants bayliss to have a test on it is to help the other rider understand the bike because they cant use Casy setup its hard for them to understand it and use the machine with stoner's setup! and there's no rider in a ducati that can beat stoner at the moment,he is talented and he knows what he wants to make it go the way it goes
