Sorry but this guy is yesterdays news. He spent 3 winless seasons in MotoGP. He was clearly the number 2 rider to Capirossi when was in the factory Ducati MotoGP team and did little to impress on the RC211V, a proven package. Sounds like a courtesy ride to me. Another world superbike champion who underperformed in MotoGP. If this is Ducati's hope to improve the desomsedici, I'm afraid they will be disappointed.

1 race win, best championship position 6th. he's had race winning packages throughout his career and he took 1 win when he had a wild card ride and the championship was already decided and he had nothing to lose. its just a test, he wont make a comeback, he was wasnt fast enough to take the motogp title in his prime, nevermind now. great rider-yes. legend-no, spank rossi/stoner-dont be ridiculous

I shall oblige with the wild speculatiion...

Bayliss vs Rossi at Mugello at the end of the month??

There's only one person who i'd like to see beat Rossi on a Ducati more than Hayden, and that's Bayliss.

Although as a Rossi fan, I can't see his party being spoilt by anyone at Mugello

Bayliss winless in motogp....well, not true. In Ducati numero 1 was Loris and also Livio Suppo ignored the Australian or at least there were average connections between them. After that in Camel Honda Troy's garage was so often empty...he was alone without enough support from mechanics (truly there was no support!)

Interesting to see what Troy will do - whatever people say about him on here, he's got that alchemy and affinity with Ducati bikes and the Ducati Corse team.

People on here saying the GP9 is a pig to ride. Have you considered the possibility that Casey is the only one game or skilled enough to exploit its full capabilities?

No, of course you haven't ...

Casey pushes it to the limit, and when he's fallen off - well, that's the only way you find the limit with these bikes, by pushing them until the front tyre lets go, then backing off a bit.

biz360, the championship had not been decided when Bayliss won - it was down to Hayden or Rossi, and Rossi fell off.

Those who say Troy's not as good as the top riders in MotoGP now are missing the point. It's a test ride. The people they get to do test rides are the best test riders. If they were the best racers, they'd be racing, not testing.
