Sorry but this guy is yesterdays news. He spent 3 winless seasons in MotoGP. He was clearly the number 2 rider to Capirossi when was in the factory Ducati MotoGP team and did little to impress on the RC211V, a proven package. Sounds like a courtesy ride to me. Another world superbike champion who underperformed in MotoGP. If this is Ducati's hope to improve the desomsedici, I'm afraid they will be disappointed.

GONICKY you are a fool.
Troy has won on a ducati in motogp something hayden will never do. by the way that race nicky came in 4th or 5th some 9 seconds or so behind troy.
also troy led more laps in that 1 ride than your mr. consistency led all season. the mark of a true champion that on that settles for 4th and 5th all season than one who wants to win
surely if there is any justice in the world hayden will be voted the GOAT never mind ago doohan et al

Ducati are in real trouble. The bikes crap(they should be applauded for trying something new though) Casey is a better rider because of it but at the loss of any other competitive riders. I don't think either ducati or casey know whether they will be competitive from one week to the next and that is not championship winning form. They need to change the bike radically to attract new talent and that's very expensive in a recession.. Dropping Capirex/Barros was a major error..They were having some success and were conventional riders. Trouble is if it's made more rider friendly will Casey still be competitive? major headache..

Troy was no better than Toseland in motogp(finished 8th,14th,15th I think) the only difference being Troy had a factory ducati and what is considered the finest motogp bike ever made, hell even Nicky could win a championship on it....Nearly everyone who has got on the 990rcv has won on it even Tony Elias..

remember when gibernau tested at mugello?he did pretty good lap times. But when the real races begun... It seems like this bike needs a lot of practice time and set-up changes to make the best out of it.sorry for my english.

Ducati when testing , qualifying or Free practice are able to open up their fuel injection and max it up. That way CS is able to get pole and stomp away at the race. The race itself gets difficult as there is limited fuel and fuel mapping decides the race. In shorter races where there will be more corners they might end up losing and tracks with longer straights favor them more.

Troy Bayless coming into the picture would be a wake up call for Haydone. Its clear Oh Nicky your so fine is not so fine really. And the other fact being Casey can ride the Ducati but is not able to develop it.

Its also recruiting time for next year and besides CS Ducati seems to be having trouble with bikes.

desmofan, get your facts sorted before you spout off a load of karp bayliss won at valencia 06 by all of 1.3 seconds over caparossi in 2nd and yes, 9 secs over hayden in 3rd. hayden had one of the longest runs of consecutive podiums in the history of mGP starting with Qatar in 05 through China in 06. he went on to take 10 podiums in 06 including 2 wins. his worst finishes that season besides the DNF handed to him by his teammate was a 9th, a 7th and two 5th's. i love how everybody thinks 'their boy' is gonna come in and storm on the GP 9. bayliss, mcwilliams, spies. or. no we need another 250 guy it's all B eZ. nobody knows why casey is the only winning rider so far or they would be winning
