I broke my collarbone many years ago in a bike accident aged 22 (plus tore the ligaments on my left foot). The doc said it may hurt in later years. Now I'm 40, when it's cold, they both ache like hell... the constant pursuit of adrenaline and excitement keeps these MotoGP riders going, but damn, at what cost? My ligament in my foot was nothing compared to Lorenzo in 2008...

I wonder what these guys (Gibernau, Lorenzo, Pedrosa, Melandri, Capirosi, Hopkins and many before them) will be like when they are in their 50's? Man, they will be in a LOT of pain, but for sure they will have lead a more exciting life than I ever have!

Brave men, all of them...

Shame he got injured just before a track he very well could have recorded his best result on so far. He had a fantastic race there in 06, he may be ropey for Catalunya as well. Get well soon!!

Considering these bikes are pulling well over a G under brakes, I can't see Sete doing anything other than making up the numbers for the next 6 weeks

Troy Balliss spoke to Darell Beattie(one of the oz commentators for the GP's)on sunday and said he'd be back to test the GP9 in one month.

Apparently the bike has some "issues" and he's there to help the other Ducati riders.

He described the performance of the bike as "having sh*t loads of horsepower and absolutely no torque"

Sorry to hear that Gibernau got injured but glad to hear his surgery went well and that he'll be back in possible two races. Was hoping that he would have been more competitive but his past injury and the bike's problems haven't helped. It would be interesting to see Bayliss stand in for one or two races but if he races would that preclude him from testing?

I like the guy and he was fierce in his battles with Rossi, but it really is time to put it to rest. One of these crashes could really mess him up for the rest of his life.
