Brilliant ride by Pasini, holding off Simoncelli like that in the last laps in those conditions was great. :)
Simoncelli gets in a bit rough at times, he got a 'yellow card' here last year,
I hope they don't punish him though, I don't think it was more than a race incident.

Race direction will probably not punish him again, but it should be obvious for anyone by now that whenever there's a race incident, he's bound to be involved in it. He's definitely ripe for a penalty, but he probably has to injure someone first before anything will be done about it. He seems unable to learn from his mistakes and doesn't see any problems with his riding which is the real problem. All these race "incidents" keep adding up and he's sorry every time, but maybe it would be better if there wasn't a reason to be sorry in the first place. This is just dumb riding and if you have to kick out your competition to be ahead, maybe you're no winner after all.

Well done by Pasini though.

Notice that, despite mentioning several times the bike brand of the sixth place finisher, Eurosport's commentators couldn't bring themselves to mention the first, third, fourth and fifth finisher's bikes. The second place finisher's brand was mentioned once.
Here's a reminder...

1st APRILIA
2nd GILERA (APRILIA derivative)
3rd APRILIA
4th APRILIA
5th APRILIA

One could think that they were deliberately not mentioning a competitor who has has kicked 'the world's largest bike manufacturers' backside over the last 8 years! :p

Unfortunately Pasini's great ride will be forgotten because of the 'incident'. I honestly thought that he would be easily beaten by Simoncelli but I was delighted by the way he fought and won. In particular I liked the way when he was baulked on one side, he switched quickly to the other and pulled off a very clean pass. Well Done. :D :D
