When Rossi loses , it's never because another rider is better than him that day...it' s always the tires, the weather, the stars...

Why has everybody ignored the fact that Rossi passed all the so-called wet weather experts on his way from 6th position to first in the opening 7 laps?
Why is everybody praising Stoner who, on the fastest accelerating bike in the race by far, went from first place to 6th before the bike change?
Why is nobody admitting that these conditions just make the racing a lottery?

Don't know why i am sitting up at this hour reading the sort of ballocks that Codger just wrote above, but anyway ...

Rossi still looked dangerous to me and I am perfectly willing to accept that if the 'dry' bike had come out on medium tyres he would have been up there fighting with Casey. No question about it. When conditions are bad Rossi's still hard to beat and when things are perfect he's nearly unstoppable.

But Codger, if it was a lottery because of the weather, why did this season's top three riders finish on the podium??? Coincidence???

According to people like Codger, Casey's win should not count because he was the fastest on the best set-up on the day. Words fail me.

Rossi ran out of medium slicks, he used them all up in qualifying thinking it was going to be wet, once again he was let down by his team, time for some hard questions to be asked of the tacticians who are slowly taking the season away from him

ducati had magnetti marelli first, so yes they are a year ahead being as magnetti partners with them. as for the only dry weekend and rossi beating lorenzo on his home track, what say anyone about that, and he crashed on a dry track. remember last year. lots of highsiding because he is a throttle whacker. it will happen again, just because he holds it together a few races doesnt mean he now brilliant. wet dry races to an extent is a gamble. yes top guys will still finish but the order is a crap shoot.

exact words from Rossi (interviewed by motogp.com)
"I was always unlucky and had bad results in this type of race. This is the first podium (in these races) so I am quite happy, because I make a good race and ride quite well, especially in the wet part. In the dry unfortunately we started with the harder front, but it's not the right choice. I lose too much time to put the tire into temperature. And also after the tire was in temperature I was not strong enough to try to win. Anyway some important points for the championship, going into podium in front of the crowd... "

so in what ways was Rossi whining?
he knew he was beaten in the dry and admitted it.

Rossi himself knows better than anyone else that Lorenzo and Stoner are very capable of beating him.
The competition is such that any small f-up will cost you the race. Gone are the days when Rossi was head and shoulder above the rest of the grid and he knows it.

I don't think he's in any way the arrogant in-denial has-been as some here seem to suggest.

Coyote, what about Stoner going from 6th to 1st in the first lap, or Lorenzo going from virtually last to second by the end of the race? Stoner's bike accelerates best from low RPM (ie. out of corners) but once they're up and going it's power that gives acceleration - and the Honda takes that cake followed by the Yam.
Stoner dropped to 6th because his tyres were off.. do you expect him to run at the front regardless yet when Rossi had Michelins it was a valid reason he couldn't be competitive?

If it was a lottery we would have had another winner considering most of the races this year have been wet. But no, it's Stoner, Lorenzo and Rossi (& Dani) week in week out... now why would that be?

Why have you ignored that Rossi was then passed by Melandri on the Hayate???? What was your excuse for that? The same reason as for the others.. their wets were going off bigtime.

On the out laps after the bike change, Stoner passed Rossi so fast (and all the others) that the commentators missed commenting on it at all. That took BALLS! While Rossi was pussy-footing his way around, a so called wet weather expert lapped amost 10 seconds faster on same lap.
