For Samas.

Yes, I agree that they only have one thing in common. And Marco does have talent. But Nicky has a MotoGP Championship (luck or not). At the end of the day and years down the road, he will always be a World Champion.

MOTOGP » Hayden '09 mirrors Melandri '08

Nicky Hayden scores exactly the same points as struggling Ducati predecessor Marco Melandri, when comparing same five rounds.

"Casey has a very simple electronics set up and has been know just to switch them off"

yeah, he really had it switched off at Laguna last year didn't he? Not...

He may use a simple setting at times but surely he doesn't shut it off. If he did he would be spinning up the rear tire like on a 500cc or 990 - which he doesn't. So that's out the window. A bike without TC will not beat a bike with it. And from everything I've read these bikes would be totally unrideable without the electronics - not to mention probably run out of fuel.

I think it's time to move on to pastures new, Nicky!

People who keep saying 'he needs more seat time' are just talking trash.

I would love to see him in the World Superbike series next season.

At Le Mans there was a brief shot of Nicky, all alone in a light rain slowly tooling around the track. Cut to a shot of his pit with his crew laughing at him. This has got to be death to any chance of improvement. Nicky said at the outset, that his crew had to make amends for the dismal showing of Marco, and I suspect faced with another disastrous season, there is some back stabbing aplenty going on th that garage. One year and out in Ducati land it looks.

i agree rawdawg, The so called simple electronics on the duc last year were considered the class of the field, they are now considered simple as they are not the very latest version? hmmmm.
The duc only works with electronics, ask fillipo preziosi he should know. You only need to see any race with camera shot of casey's throttle hand and the throttle and braking graphic to see that there is a **** load of electronics going on. He practically uses the throttle like a switch as does he the brakes. If that had no electronics it would fire him into the scenery. No disrespect to stoner he is a genius, but those comments on electronics are complete bs

I know it will be very difficult to find out how to ride the 'Ducati Monster'! But don't give up Nicky!

I hope Ducati and Satellite should conduct regular meeting between their rider and engineer. Stoner will be appreciated also if he so humble to share his bike setup and telemetri.

Ducati must do something or they should give a blank cheque to Stoner.

Rawdawg, Stoner does have that bike stepping out a fair bit. Sometimes its more of a save than a slide like at Correntaio corner last weekend but he does seem to be using a pretty low level.

Hayden needs to go to WSBK after this season, plain and simple. He needs to look at it as a new opportunity, not a demotion. WSBK is hot right now, and should be over the next few yrs.

The bikes suit NH style much more, and the overall spread of competition I think is more evenly matched.

And I think we should all stop the guessing game on electronics...no one on here knows what settings or e-tronics package teams use, and it's been clearly stated by many riders that teams use them heavily! Stoner is not going to be any different

Nicky shows consistency even though he was low in championship table. All of these due to obstacles in the bike which has holding him down.

So, he just need the time and place to fins and remove those obstacles and put himself back to his usual performance with the consistency he already had now.

If he the one found the solution, it could drastically change all the other Ducati satellite riders too. But if the satellite riders found the solution, they may keep within themselves.

But I suspected, Gibernau were remotely and secretly do the problem solving job for the Ducati by putting back GP7 attributes back into GP9 development.

Stoner doesn't seem to want money. After winning his title in 07 (or before he won it, but while he was leading the series), he re-signed with Ducati for the same amount that he signed for originally. I think it was $1.5mil or so. He's repeatedly off-handedly criticized Rossi for trying to earn as much money as he possibly can ('some people are trying to bleed the sport dry' or some such are one of his comments). So even though he's the only rider capable of riding the Ducati I doubt he'll take advantage of that fact and ask for more money.
