For Samas.

Yes, I agree that they only have one thing in common. And Marco does have talent. But Nicky has a MotoGP Championship (luck or not). At the end of the day and years down the road, he will always be a World Champion.

MOTOGP » Hayden '09 mirrors Melandri '08

Nicky Hayden scores exactly the same points as struggling Ducati predecessor Marco Melandri, when comparing same five rounds.

I agree Solinking...

I can't help but wondering what Rossi might have thought when he saw Marco (who are pretty good friends) overtake him in the wet. He must have been thinking: 'How the h*ll do you get all the way uphere, while starting 15th? Are all the other riders out of the race behind me?'... Hahahhaa

For me it is just a confirmation on how important it is to have the bike adjusted for the rider. Every rider has an optimum bike for him somewhere... But they have to find it. Give Marco the best bike for him, and I'm sure he will be competing for the title.... And I think the same goes for Nicky...

Too bad the Duc wasn't that machine for both of them...

Nero, Stoner does not use the throttle like a switch, he uses it like a throttle.

Type 'Stoner onboard Brno' into google and you'll see for yourself.

I heard it too from another source, Casey is riding with an old version of the electronics because the new versions interfere too much.

face facts hayden fans the guy is only in motogp to sell bikes (not on merit like marco) and your in dreamland if you think a switch to WSBK will improve his results . As for him developing the bike just look at what he did to honda this bozo couldn't develop stink on sh!t.
AMAdragbikes should be his next stop 1/4 mile in a straight line (no need to wobble round corners) he should be a solid midpack finisher there

Bejezus there's some bull sh*t on these threads.

1 - "We need the longer practice sessions, it takes 20 mins just to set up the electronics on the bike" Jeremy Burgess interviewed 4 weeks ago in AMCN. The M1's have the most sophisticated(and the best) electronics package in MotoGP.
2 - "I've seen the telemetry, Stoner rolls the throttle on very smoothly" Canepa (Ducati test rider and MotoGP rooky). Most of the Ducati's computer power is for fuel management. It's T.C. is very basic (compared to the M1)
3 - No one wins a W.C. by "luck", NH is a great rider, he has at least identified where the problems are in the bike, this is what a "great work ethic" means, this is what Ducati want off him

Wouldn't that electronics improvement last year just to help Elias, Guintoli and Melandri. But those improvement are customized to trellis frames.

GP9 hasn't got any engine improvement. Only CF chassis.

The other top bikes had 2009 top speed improvements which is almost matching or faster than Ducati (Yamaha and Honda).

There no news that tells Ducati had improvement in agility and mid-range strength department. Only a couple of times of aerodynamics improvements since 2003.

Stoner used to ride with lack of everything with a record pace since on LCR Honda. So, no surprised he will be faster on Ducati. Every surrounding elements is advantage for him.

Rossi only wins because of the TC. Put him on even footing and Stoner would walk all over him.
