For Samas.

Yes, I agree that they only have one thing in common. And Marco does have talent. But Nicky has a MotoGP Championship (luck or not). At the end of the day and years down the road, he will always be a World Champion.

MOTOGP » Hayden '09 mirrors Melandri '08

Nicky Hayden scores exactly the same points as struggling Ducati predecessor Marco Melandri, when comparing same five rounds.

strange how hopkins comments are similar to melandris. I guess marco is a sour idiot who has never ridden a ducati etiehr...

and trusting TV graphics as if they are "quality telemetry"

DumDum - their comments contradict what other Ducati riders including Hayden, Elias, Guintoli and Canepa have said, as well as evidence from footage and telemetry.

If you do high performance riding, you would know there are 3 different ways rider aids being used by a particular rider:

1. Conservative - sometimes it upset their riding.
2. Creative - Only use it as necessary/overwrite.
3. Manipulative - overuse it programmatically.

Methods 2 and 3 usually by a rider who had a champion gene in their blood. While method 1 were usually by the rest of the grid filler. Those are level how much they trust the thing.

Example, Rossi(3), Stoner(2) and others(1). If the thing was a Powerslide uses, McCoy(3), Doohan(2) and other(3).

Stoner has absolute power dictating how he want to use them or skip them with a creative counter measure.

it all comes down to trusting the tech. cap rode the 990cc pretty darn good. but only occasionally looked fast on the 800cc. it kills me when i see people saying stoner uses less aids. having the GPS assign a different throttle mapping for every corner on the track is using less? taking away rider aids would hurt rossi more than stoner? lol lol. road racing isnt your sport people. you clearly dont understand what your watching.

I've read the article buy Hopkins....interesting.

He says ALL MotoGP riders hold the throttle wide open from the apex.

However Niccola Cannepa, Colin Edwards, Mika Kallio, Stoner, the on-board footage of the riders throttle hand and standing at the track watching D.P., C.E., C.S., M.M., N.H. steering the bike using the rear wheel says otherwise.

I've always defended Hopper on this site, but this is just bullsh*t sour grapes

Rossifumi

You're looking really smart

So if I understand you, riding this bike is sooooo easy almost like a kid playing his video game.

Explain that to Capirossi, Melandri, Elias, Guintoli, Barros, Hoffman, Kallio, Canepa and Hayden.......they'll appreciate it! lol

Don't say to me that this bike was develloped for Stoner, it was already developed by the test rider Guareschi and Capirossi since the beginning of 2006 and therefore made a long time before Stoner came to ducati and became world champion in 2007.

IMO
The bike although was developed/Set-up by Capirossi, Gibernau, Checa ,Barros and the other Test riders.
Once in the Hands of Casey Stoner and they were winning some races in the beginning the whole Ducati team was behind CS. And that with the new 800cc they must have had a smokin chance of winning the Championship and neglected the rest of the riders and concentrated on CS. Casey is an awesome rider but why would Ducati jeorpadise 25 points every race if Capirossi shows up sometimes. That will divide the points enough to let the other factories have a go at it. Very Formula 1 style of Team orders. After winning the championship CS must be guarding his set up.

So I guess its all good to dismiss comments from people who have actually ridden the bikes, but take everythign seen from pretty pictures on teh TV as pure and total evidence?

Once you pull your heads out of the sand, perhaps you will smell the coffee.

TC/electronics are used by all, including stoner and rossi, waa waa, boo hoo.

The riders themselves are saying that its more F1 style than it used to be, but that aint good enough for some. Its sour grapes hahaha

or do you not understand that hopkins used stoner as an example, even though he was talking about all the bikes out there.

This year it seems Ducati has brought in more riders to try and get those Pole setters to get in the mix and slow down the pack while Stoner gets away enough that Rossi wont be able to get back.

So my conspiracy theory is what if Yamaha were to tune down Rossi's Bike and let Lorenzo runaway with the Title. That would have been exactly what happened to Capirossi in 2007. Not that Yamaha are .Riders like TE, SG, NC, MK and NH are a Dime a dozen. Otherwise why would they need 5 riders when Suzuki could only afford 2 and Yamaha only 4. I still say Casey Stoner is an awesome Rider before any of you monkeys jump on me but this year will sort out the real Champion and the Ducatis situation.
