That shot is of Stoner at the Sepang test. Any commentators who persist in the 'he just relies on TC' bitch are shown to be the idiots they are.

Not meaning to spoil the party but when has anyone seen this kind of riding in a race weekend? The last time I remember was Hayden in Indy last year, but other than that, it just doesnt happen. Fuel issues would be my guess, a shame really

ah just what i miss, powerslides and drifting from the front and back wheels, gary mccoy springs to mind and also piergiorgio bontempi on the kawasaki in world superbikes amongst others.
i remember the gp at donnington in 99 and i clicked my camera in amazement at the suspension bouncing up and down on them crazy 500s as they were smoking the rears up trying to to throw kocinski and others off their bikes, sheer brilliance to watch coming from a wannabe like me.

Certainly brings back memories of Mick Doohan on his 500, those powerslides just went on forever!

Fuel may be one reason we dont see thse on race weekends, but tyre wear and ultimate race pace are the main reasons.

While it may look great it just isnt the fastest way home and the tyres will go off way faster.

Pity though :)

It would be the fastest way home if they would lose the *%#@ traction control. And it is a great picture.

Yeah, Its a great picture, it's just too bad you can't get real high resolution versions here... It would make a great wallpaper.

Fantastic pic indeed however back to the subject of these comments and that's about dual compound tyres being available to the MotoGP riders in various choices.
I thought the reason behind the move to a one tyre rule was to put every one on the same tyre therefore making the racing field more or less level.
What next?
