dude, for Lorenzo to be the best he would have to equal and surpass Rossi's accomplishments. thats a tall order. atheletes like Rossi dont come along that often, everytime you see him ride you are witnessing "the best" there is at this point in time. no doubt anyone in this class of racing is phenominal but Lorenzo has a loooooooooong way to go to be the best.

Rossi and Lorenzo are good team mates, displayed the spirit of racing :)
But I feel sad for the 'other' Red bike

I think there is a real rivalry brewing between these two,
with Lorenzo having digs at Rossi in the press and the wall in between.
Nothing wrong with a bit of rivalry though, today they showed that their overtaking moves, however close, were clean and I think they respect eachother.
Lorenzo feels he is the future of Yamaha and that has to be proven.
He is however up against the best rider in the world so he'll have his work cut out for him.
Today's defeat at his home grand prix must sting. :p

I'm sure it stings just as much as Lorenzo's win at Mugello stung Rossi into action today.
This could develop into a classic rivalry... remember what Lorenzo said when interviewed in Parc Ferme, "watch out next race".
I just hope it stays clean and neither of them get hurt as this is just what MotoGP needs.

Yes Morgue, nothing wrong with a bit of rivalry else it would taste too plain :p I meant I remember a rivalry (my teen age time) between supremely talented team mates which became so unpredictable and sensational. They were Senna and Prost! That was the most intense rivalry I ever saw. I can't imagine such a situation in MotoGP

what a race,a big difference from F1,througly enjoyable, this championship is wide open,I suspect the Ducati is only good on long straight circuits, and this might be where Stoner might lose ground to the two Yamahas

Rossi's record can't be argued period. All of his titles are well earned and deserved. Does that mean Lorenzo has to bow to the king? Heck NO. That's not what he gets paid to do.

Lorenzo seems to gel with the M1 perfectly, he's young, very fast, smooth and has shown today he's got the cojones. Rossi could not force him into a mistake no matter what he threw at him and had to give his all to beat Lorenzo. This is good for Motogp, this race was gonna be an easy walk for Vale if it wasn't for Jorge.
