Did Casey ONCE congratulate Jorge or Valentino today on TV? Has Casey EVER said he is beaten by the better rider after a loss like that? Jorge does.

I watched it on the BBC, on Eurosport and I watched the press talk too. Not one word, why?

This is why Stoner is disliked so much, sadly.

A truly wonderful talent ruined by a bad sportsman attitude.

Either way, he won't win another world championship again - he doesn't have a 16 km/h advantage and one litre extra fuel economy to play with.

MOTOGP » 'Dead' Stoner clings to podium

For the first nine laps of Sunday’s Grand Prix of Catalunya, Casey Stoner matched the Fiat Yamahas of Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo blow-for-blow at the front of the field.

Leave Stoner alone you horrible Rossi fans! :p
Clearly he is a spent force in the championship from now on and he will be lucky to finish third this year, so allow him his childish tantrums as it may be all that he has left!
And its not his fault that he shows no class when losing, its in his genes! :D

:)

(seriously though, I hope he comes back strong as the championship could do with a three way fight rather than a two way Yamaha whitewash. Just get the guy some PR training for his on camera persona thats all!)

I feel sorry for Casey. He takes so much stick from 'fans'. Moaner, spitting his dummy out, should be in a pram. Get a grip. Stoner is a top rider and a top man. He isn't a moaner. All you critics out there, could you bring a rodeo-bull Ducati home in third, let alone at 40C AND feeling ill? I reckon that it is all to do with the fact he beat Rossi - both Stoner and Hayden get the most stick and they were the two men to beat Rossi. I'm a massive Rossi fan, but I like Casey and Nicky as well. People want to have a go at Stoner just for the sake of it. Yesterday, he wasn't a bad sportsman. He never refused to congratulate Rossi or Lorenzo. He was tired out, yes - not an idiot for god sake.

No getting away from it stoner is a very talented rider but a little humility goes a long way, christ anyone who has raced at any level hates to lose but you gotta suck it up and congratulate the winner. Oh before you label me as a fanboy i am of racing, watching and doing it.

Kiyo, I don't think anyone doubts his skill on a race bike, most of us comment on his behaviour off it. It is no coincidence that alot of contributors on this site remark about the way he acts and what he says. He probably moans that the settings on his pram are wrong. 46

To me, Stoner shows why Rossi is such a hugely popular world champion, and why most of us still wouldn't be sick and tired of him winning by a country mile like he used to do. Even in the dark days of 06 I don't remember Rossi whinging, and god knows he had reason to do so. He invariably wins, and loses, with good grace. Just look at his reaction yesterday, he looked wrecked in parc ferme but he's straight over to Jorge congratulating him on a fantastic, hugely entertaining race. Whereas even if he's won Stoner would have had something to complain about. That's no fun for anyone.

No other sportsmen is able to get people so mesmerized that they exhibit irrational and hysterical behavior. Only VR can inspire such frenzy that we see in his fans. This is getting to be like a personality cult. It will all stop the day VR leaves the sport.

There's a lot of talk about the TV coverage not showing Stoner congratulate Rossi or Lorenzo. Do many of you seriously believe what we see on TV as the definitive truth? Hate to break it to you a lot more happens than what TV shows you. The respect these guys have for each other is evident on numerous other occassions. Oh, have a look at the pic of them on the pedium posted with this story. As for all the chatter about Rossi being a consumate professional and always being gracious he himself has shown some moments of questionable character... think back to his rivalry with Biaggi and then Sete... We all have good days and bad. Enjoy your lounge-rooms and the panoptic vision that it offers!!!
