Did Casey ONCE congratulate Jorge or Valentino today on TV? Has Casey EVER said he is beaten by the better rider after a loss like that? Jorge does.

I watched it on the BBC, on Eurosport and I watched the press talk too. Not one word, why?

This is why Stoner is disliked so much, sadly.

A truly wonderful talent ruined by a bad sportsman attitude.

Either way, he won't win another world championship again - he doesn't have a 16 km/h advantage and one litre extra fuel economy to play with.

MOTOGP » 'Dead' Stoner clings to podium

For the first nine laps of Sunday’s Grand Prix of Catalunya, Casey Stoner matched the Fiat Yamahas of Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo blow-for-blow at the front of the field.

Great ride by the top 4....Rossi had a defining moment in the last lap when he fought so tenaciously for the win.
Casey would know that his detractors will be bagging him - he could have done himself a favour post race by disappearing quickly instead of hanging off the fence.
He definately looked ill, but should reconsider some of the things he says when it doesn't go his way for what ever reason.
Stoner was looking set to mix it up big time while he was on Lorenzo's back wheel. Get well soon Casey...

Wot a load of crap, then you would have said he was sulking or something similar, It seems the biggest pack of moaners are here on this site posting negative comments about Stoner.
Well done to the podium.

Casey's skill in riding a Moto GP motorcycle to world championship level is unquestioned.

What is not unquestionable however, is his inability to be gracious in defeat.

One of the golden rules of racing,
Dont let your rivals see any weakness. That would probably be why CS didnt mention illness on Friday or Saturday.

Crash. Why dont you allow semi colons?

In 2007 the ducati power advantage annoyed me, in 2008 i thought casey's attitude sucked. And after refusing to shake vale's hand i couldn't stand the guy. To be fair i think this year he's much more relaxed and his attitude is good, and i have huge respect for him and his talent. I almost like him now. We have someone else who's arrogant and full of himself now. I'm sure you know who i'm talking about..

@dog, did you notice the word 'seemed' in my previous comment? i'm not saying he wasn't sick. i saw the pictures of him after the race. he looked completely out of it. all i was regarding was that he didn't seem to totally give either rossi or lorenzo the credit they both deserved in his interview.

BTW, you suggested that i am a complete rossi fanatic. to tell you the truth, i am not. i'm not a fan of any rider in particular, i just like good racing, so i like just about every rider in the paddock including stoner believe it or not, especially considering he rode a duke when he was not 100 per cent

Everything about Stoner at the end of the race shrieked exhaustion. That's totally congruent with his description of something akin to a low level of illness the night before ... which isn't the first time that's happened to him. And *that's* common amongst athletes who over-train. Whilst that level of heat & humidity would have just made it all worse.

On balance, I believe the bloke.
The expressions of his crew and his missus indicated they did too - They were genuinely worried.

He must be a better rider than you give him credit for then as he is joint leader in the World Championship WITHOUT a 16 km/h advantage and one litre extra fuel economy to play with.
