Did Casey ONCE congratulate Jorge or Valentino today on TV? Has Casey EVER said he is beaten by the better rider after a loss like that? Jorge does.

I watched it on the BBC, on Eurosport and I watched the press talk too. Not one word, why?

This is why Stoner is disliked so much, sadly.

A truly wonderful talent ruined by a bad sportsman attitude.

Either way, he won't win another world championship again - he doesn't have a 16 km/h advantage and one litre extra fuel economy to play with.

MOTOGP » 'Dead' Stoner clings to podium

For the first nine laps of Sunday’s Grand Prix of Catalunya, Casey Stoner matched the Fiat Yamahas of Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo blow-for-blow at the front of the field.

He looked pretty ill on the podium. My wife even came through and looked at the TV and said "whats wrong with him, looks like he's going to throw up"

Why is it so hard to beleive he might actually be telling the truth?

Yes CS is a top shelf rider, but when he started saying how he gave up halfway, I lost major respect. Not that he cares, It just made him look bad, is my point.

Once again Stoner takes the fastest lap of the race. Hopefully Assen won't be above 40 degrees and he'll be able to maintain to to the end. Stoner does seem to really struggle in very hot conditions, it's been a similiar story at Sepang in the past.

I have to admit I have never been a fan of Casey Stoner. In my humble opinion he is not a patch on his fellow countryman Troy Baylis. Either in terms of his ability or in his attitude. However over the last few races I have begun to feel sorry for him. Its obvious to all but a blind dog the this wee laddie is cracking up with pre-race nerves. The pressure to win is clearly causing him stress and ill health. Without a doubt he knows that while he has oodles of talent he is never going to have the tactical skills of Valentino Rossie nor the maturity and sheer determination of Lorenzo or Pedrosa. Time Ducati Boss's realized what they were putting him through and sent him to a stress counsellor.

Blah, blah, blah... why does this forum come down to who is liked and disliked? Rossi is a hero... Stoner is a moaner????!!!! The comment "I watched it on TV and..." syas it all for me. We sit in the comfort of our homes and pass judgement from there. No luxury for the riders who compete with the utmost professionalism in gruelling conditions. Stoner was obviously struggling and still hung on for 3rd. The toll of that was obvious. The 'tough it out' attiude is macho rubbish. I, for one, think it is positive to see role models being honest about the physical and mental strain of racing. Maybe we should start getting past this attitude of 'men mustn't show weakness' because it's not heathy.

its funny how the dislike of casey began only when he began to beat rossi in 2007 rossi liked him the fans... i noticed rossi hugged jorge after the race yup he'll love him as long as he stays in second, point is if Lorenzo wins the wc i would predict he becomes quite hated on these pages especially seeing as they're on the same bike, its been two years since casey beat rossi but you fanboys are still so upset you'd rather make excuses about stoners success rather than enjoy what was a fantastic race
