Did Casey ONCE congratulate Jorge or Valentino today on TV? Has Casey EVER said he is beaten by the better rider after a loss like that? Jorge does.

I watched it on the BBC, on Eurosport and I watched the press talk too. Not one word, why?

This is why Stoner is disliked so much, sadly.

A truly wonderful talent ruined by a bad sportsman attitude.

Either way, he won't win another world championship again - he doesn't have a 16 km/h advantage and one litre extra fuel economy to play with.

MOTOGP » 'Dead' Stoner clings to podium

For the first nine laps of Sunday’s Grand Prix of Catalunya, Casey Stoner matched the Fiat Yamahas of Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo blow-for-blow at the front of the field.

I think the 'dead' reference is metaphorical, in that Casey saw the future pulling away from him and realised that his career and any chance of being a contender, and therefore keeping his seat at Ducati was over.. couldn't happen to a nicer bloke..

I am not a Stoner fan but he looked absolutly gutted after the race. I have never seen him like that before, he looked like he was gonna puke and pass out, maybe in a different order even. What a flippin race!

The one true exceptional thing going on in Motogp at the moment is how Stoner rides the Ducati. Reminds me of Vale when he first got on the Yamaha. The only way Stoner will lose his ride at Ducati is if Repsol or Fiat poach him. We finally have three talents in Motogp aka the days of Doohan, Schwantz, Rainey... stoner and loony are the first real competition Vale has had to date. I don't think Pedrosa is up to it. i am yet to see him string together a consistent year since his 250 days.

I have got to agree that Stoner was out on his feet after the race. My real job is as a senior triage nurse in the oil and gas industry, and I thought that he was going to pass out on the dais. He was in the hands of the medical crew before the presentation began. Heat exhaustion and dehydration was my long distance diagnosis (a dangerous thing to do in real life of course). There are lots of stoner haters out there who are juvenile enough to take this condition as an act of course. My long distance suggestion to them is "grow up". These guys are elite athletes by any measure and some of the purile hate that pours out from the fan boys of both camps is disgusting.
