Did Casey ONCE congratulate Jorge or Valentino today on TV? Has Casey EVER said he is beaten by the better rider after a loss like that? Jorge does.

I watched it on the BBC, on Eurosport and I watched the press talk too. Not one word, why?

This is why Stoner is disliked so much, sadly.

A truly wonderful talent ruined by a bad sportsman attitude.

Either way, he won't win another world championship again - he doesn't have a 16 km/h advantage and one litre extra fuel economy to play with.

MOTOGP » 'Dead' Stoner clings to podium

For the first nine laps of Sunday’s Grand Prix of Catalunya, Casey Stoner matched the Fiat Yamahas of Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo blow-for-blow at the front of the field.

Stoner will never be accepted by the majority of Rossi fans as he was the first person to really question whether Rossi was actually as good as they'd been bleating on about for years.

Even in 07 Colin Edwards still maintained that the Yamaha was the best all round bike out there, but Casey didn't just win the title, he walked it. And it wasn't just top speed, some of his displays of riding (Catalunya and Donington) were of a calibre that many previously thought only Rossi was capable of.

He's also just about as ordinary a bloke as you'll find at the top of any sport, says what he has to say, doesn't bother with the big PR thing or anything.

and has a lovely wife as well.

He's hatefull!

You're wrong Simon, Stoner was already quite sick in morning warm up, if you watched it he ran off at turn 1 and just slumped over the tank for a while. He was keeping it quiet but its pretty obvious he deteriorated quickly after setting fastest lap of the race. Under the circumstances 3rd was a heroic effort.

And to the guys saying he was ungracious, you have to take into account how shattered he was after the race. The commentator asked him a question and he answered it as best he could but he was virtually the same colour as his leathers.

Now you guys say, we make the excuses, but in this article Stoner and you guys make the excuses. He is whining a lot more, than we do... Oh and by the way, we can make excuses, because Rossi is the best rider on the best bike(right now), and if he doesn't win, it has a reason (usually not his mistakes). Like the last time, the idiot, who put up hard tyres. Rossi made the mistake in Le Mans, but had setup issues in Motegi and Qatar. If every rider gives his best and their bikes are at 100% potential, Rossi wins every time.

I think everyone knew that this was going to be the tightest race of the year - with all the anticipation maybe Casey just got sick with nerves. It happens to the best and hopefully won't happen to him again. In the end I think it was the result we all expected, a Yamaha 1-2 with Casey in third. No great surprise really. Some pretty mean-minded comments on here when Casey was clearly unwell no matter what the reason.

Jesus, did you hear the list of excuses in the post race interview.. that was embarrasing! He didnt even answer the journalist's question! Instead he flooded the place with a 2-minute-excuse list...

Pathetic.

I don't believe some of the posts on this forum.
Just to get one thing clear I am not a Stoner fan.
How many of you have actually raced I am sure very few.
To race a Motogp bike for the length of a GP, in that heat, if you are fully fit is something none of us could do, let alone if you were even slightly under the weather. Yes I do race and live in a country where it can get up to 40 deg Celsius. ALL of these guys are truly amazing when it comes to ability and fitness. All of you couch experts get off your asses and give it a try. Then see if you are still so critical of people who do things that you can only dream of. :? :?

I think there are only a couple of Stoner haters/Trolls on this board, Dray and Dingo change their handles daily to make it look like there are more but their style and punctuation etc give them up.
Neither will ever be true fans of the sport, only Troll fanbois.

Cheers.

Ty46 you must be joking if you think anyone but rossi picked the tyres for the dry part of the mugello race, rossi basically dragged the whole championship into one tyre manufacture rule with his complaining yet you think he let someone else pick his tyres????? casey deliberately stayed out as long as he could because he knew he would be on soft tyres, btw no one here is making any excuses for casey why would we need to make excuses for the man who is equal 1st in the championship :) besides everyone cracks under pressure at some stage... even rossi (valencia 2006)

As one of the top Doctors in me field I can let you know that Casey has a serious genetic flaw thus causing him to behave like a spoiled child this is due to a "Whinging Pom" chromosome passed down through his family all the way back to leaving England. It is normal for aussies to have this but it is often dormant to the dominant "Tuff Aussie B@stard" chromosome.
So give the Kid a break don't hate him because he acts like a sore losing englishman in time I'm sure he'll be cured unlike you natural poms how don't have a chance
