Charge of the Yamahas

This was the day, this was the race
Vale and Jorge came face to face
To battle for glory, battle to win
Battle to ride the greatest pace
Like knights of old in armour clad
Dark visor shut tight against the fear
The fear that was so surely near

Crowds to left of them
Crowds to the right of them
Crowds in the front of them
Hollering and chanting
Bravely they rode the track
For both there was no going back
Onward they went and silently prayed
To show the world they weren't afraid

First it was Jorge and then in was Rossi
Both too gifted to rhyme
An out-break here, a dive-in there
They drove the crowd to despair
And then joy to see the pair
Racing as if keeping in time

The last lap an honour to see
As boldly rode the two riders
A parry, a jab as they lean on the knee
Held up by nothing but sliders
As Jorge holds his nerve and line
Rossi looks done in the sweltering heat
Then an inspirational flash
Sees Rossi make a last corner dash
To seize glory from the jaws of

Crowds to left of them
Crowds to the right of them
Crowds in the front of them
They rise and chant as one:
“Rossi, Rossi, Rossi” they hail
“Your glory will never fade
For that one spectacular pass you made
This moment crowns you a hero”

That pass at the end of the straight around the outside of Lorenzo was simply stunning. Even if Rossi lost that battle he was still the king for overtaking someone around the outside...just like he did on Casey at Laguna Seca last year.

Go Rossi go!

The GOAT...........

There are some serious Rossi haters here. I don't get it. The guy is humble, always optimistic, he's the Michael Jordan or motorcycle racing, what's not to like about the man?

I guess it's true what they say. Some hate to see the best at the top and are two damn blind to see it. I'm just happen to have seen what we are seeing from Rossi. I wouldnt even be watching motogp if it wasn't for him. We'll probably see someone like Rossi come along maybe twice in our life times, if that. Quit that hate. Rossi is the GOAT

it seems maybe it is raining on Saturday..that's too bad because another traditionally good race is going to be ruined.the weather forecast talks about showers and maybe we will get to have a dry race but the temperatures are going to be lower on race day so that's more than enough to mess things up...

You know who you are you rossi haters
Of true race fans it's clear you don't rate us
You are blind to the skill
That brings such a thrill -
And to the values of decency you're traitors

Jamaal, humble obviously has a different meaning in your culture to mine. By the way, you're right, he is like that Jordan bloke, overpaid AND somewhat overrated, never the less, they were good at their chosen profession and dominated amongst dull competition. How things change. But most of all they attract hordes of scarily obsessed followers that would buy date roll if it had their heroes picture printed on it! Cheers.

C'mon Vale. I wonder what his 100th celebration will be?

With the Championship race all even at the top it should be an interesting race, more of what we had in Spain would be awesome.

100th win is on its way, fingers crossed for Assen
